Default Where have you mounted your UHF?

Just wondering where everyone has mounted there UHF?

Post pictures if you have any... I'm in the Market for one and was looking for mounting ideas, I was thinking either up on the Windsceen above the rear vision mirror or on the right hand top corner next to the sun visor..... Any one done this?!

Hey RyanG
I have a GME 3440 mounted underneath the steering wheel. The cover removes to get to the Amp, I mounted it in the space there easily. The mic has the display on it and it is mounted near the right side tweeter so that I can use the function buttons easily while wheeling. My wife doesn't like it because it is out of her reach - although it could have been mounted on the left (spot for the Garmin Nuvi though). I don't have the ability to post pictures.

I have the GME 3440 with controls on the handset as well. The unit is mounted in behind the plastic covers (in front of my left knee when driving).

Smile Hunty's JK UHF install

Heres a repost from my thread - dig a bit - plenty of people have done amazing things - cheers Hunty

Hi Guyz
I finally got around to installing my CB (cut the cables ties that were holding it onto the top of the dash LoL)
I have looked and looked for a CB with a remote control on the Mic that I could bury behind the dash but alas I could not find 1 that would do both the old 27Meg & UHF - I really get a lot of valuable highway information from the truckers that mainly still use 27Meg - so I decided to see if I could cut my Uniden 95sx dual band (UHF & 27meg) into the top of the panel.

Step 1 Mark it out carefully - LoL
Step 2 Remove the top by prying of the top plastic cover - rear first!
Step 3 Remove - unplug the Compass / direction sensor
Step 4 Using a sharp knife carefully cut out the top of the stereo
Step 5 Same Knife - cut the plastic top
Step 6 Test fit
Step 7 reconnect compass / direction sensor
Enjoy
cheers Hunty

I did a search and didn't find anything... I figured it would be handy having a heap of info and pictures all in one thread.

But hey there is always the token "do a search" comment whenever just about anyone starts a thread.
