I remove the awning. I leave the brackets permanently attached to the awning itself, so they don’t need to be re aligned ever time. Also makes the job of mounting the awning no longer than 5 minutes

out of curiosity why do you remove your awning ? All that effort to take it off and on again seems pointless :P

I remove my 2.5m awning from my jku quite a lot. My car is not garaged and the sun started to damage the cover only after a few months mounted.

It also catches quite a bit or wind and fuel usage is almost 1l per 100km better just by removing it. I don't do a lot of km but if it was a daily drive I'd definitely not be using the awning.

If you have a torx head bit for a drill it takes hardly any time to remove and remount it especially with 2 people.

yer it does. The tailgate can't open all the way up but it doesn't bother me . I simply can't be without all that shade with a family .
