Pinion Flange leak?

Hi all. Keen for the brains trust perspective.

I seem to have what looks like a leak from the pinion flange on the drive shaft coupler at the back of the transfer case. You can see the spray pattern in the below picture. Only slight and have not noticed any dripping just noticed spray marks when under the vehicle doing an inspection.

My understanding is there is no lubrication in this pinion flange other than some axle grease when installing however I am thinking this might be a leaking pinion seal and could be the transfer case fluids leaking through?? Has anyone had this at all but keen for any other suggestions otherwise will just order a seal and get replaced.
