Default Grand Cherokee Trailhawk

Hi guys, not sure why (maybe middle age crisis), but i have decided to change my Grand Cherokee 75ht Anniversary to Grand Cherokee Trailhawk.
For a few reasons: got all the electronic toys I want in the car, a ventilated seat to keep my _____ cool, tires I want and the main thing air suspension and under cover protection.
The main trade off for me is I'm used to petrol and not the diesel...
My questions before I put pen to the paper (yes the youngsters here will be scratching their heads, what no Ipad?).
1. DPF - any issues (and please don't mention RangeRover evoque i have recommended my wife to buy!!!)
2. What would you recommend to do to Trailhawk before taking to the bush (like a front protection of a kind?)
Thank you

Hi

I have 30k on my diesel Trailhawk.
No issues with DPF. The compressor for air suspension was faulty and went back 4 times before they actually replaced the compressor.

A bashplate will be an essential addition.
The factory one is laughable, basically a price of felt and some plastic.
Also some rock sliders would be my recommendation.

Coming from a Prado I am happy with performance and features.

Good luck with the purchase.

As Hendomatt mentioned.

First thing is to get decent skid plates underneath it before anything else. What comes from the factory won't last or protect anything for long.

Then look at rock sliders, a decent set of AT tyres a 2" lift.

Check out Murchison Products or Uneek 4x4.

Bash Plates ..... I bought mine from this mob, https://www.customoffroad.com.au/pro...-transmission/
good quality, stainless steel with bolts, well cut and fast postage, best of all no added Name Tax so the price is sensible unlike others.

If doing serious off road then tyres and some front bar work before you end up smashing the plastic front end....Good to see they have 18" not 20" wheels.

you don't need a lift with a trailhawk as it has air .

you don't need skid plates except for trans and sump cover as the trailhawk comes with a set of mopar plates . It already comes with AT tyres, albeit overpriced .

You really don't need anything apart from sliders to be able to go offroad in a trailhawk
