Default Dana 44 into a XJ?? Help....

Hi Guys
I have been told by the local "Jeep Expert" that putting a Locker into the standard Dana 35 in the rear of my 95 XJ leads to broken axles, and the wheels parting company with the car
Has anybody had this problem.....?
So the guy says no problems we will just chuck a Dana 44 in the back, "They just Bolt in".....
The problem is that all the 44's I have seen come from Jeeps with coil springs, not just a bolt in seeing XJ's have leaf springs.
Has anybody put a Dana 44 into the rear of an XJ ??
Leaf spring Jeep Dana 44 for sale ???

Cheers

Gary

I have had a locker in the rear with d35 for about a year and run 31inch claws all the time with no issues so far.

You can just bolt in a D44 but the axle has to come from the States where they were options on the XJ from 87 to 89.
I have a write up on fitting one on my site but went with a new bare housing anyway for a MJ which are spring under.
