Thanks JJ - I used Omnigraffle on the Mac, which i use for network diagrams. If you're on Windows I could send you a PDF you could edit in Illustrator, you can get a 30 day trial from the Adobe website.
I'll go through you're recommendations later today.

From what I could read of the diagram that Billnick did, if I was to simply place a switch on the ignition feed to the first relay to kill the low speed (always on with ignition) circuit, the second fan would still come on with any high speed triggers. So that will save some relays but require two switches, no?

Hmm wasn't expecting the coils would draw more power than the LED could take. Looking now, the LEDs I'm looking at state 30mA continuous, 75mA peak.
I still have some diodes here so shouldn't be a problem to do that, will just need to add it into the diagram.

Just re-reading your post, we're you suggesting one master relay from the battery to all fans? And that triggered by a switch in-dash? I'd assume that would require a relay much bigger than 40A based on the draw of most of these fans nowadays, like the one recommended for the Taurus fan? I wanted to keep replacement parts easy to find and inexpensive...

I think you could ditch the relay triggered by the OEM ecu fan. The wiring is designed to run a fan, it can surely run a couple of relays. The fact that it provides a ground is no problem. On the post updates the wiring diagram shows a +ve feed coming off a relay in the PCM, I presume the pre dates the ground also comes off a relay??

That first relay is the factory fan relay and apparently can throw a code if using the oem 'trigger' circuit on OBD2 jeeps for additional things. Im assuming that the ECU expects a certain current or assumes a problem? Curious about the PCM relay though.
Correct me if I'm wrong or misinterpreted your post...

The rest is not required....
