Default 2.7L CRD Misfiring Badly at low RPM

Hey fellas,

Have developed a bad misfire at idle/low RPM over the last few days at Straddie last weekend. Grew from a bit of surging at idle to full-on skipping a few cylinders, and crazy hard to start. OK-ish once up at speed.

I've done some reading, but not had much of a chance to investigate on the vehicle itself nor checkout codes yet.

Any obvious things to look out for? Air-leaks in fuel lines? EGR or SWIRL etc?

Your collective wisdoms are appreciated!

You should be able to see bubbles in the LP fuel lines, if that's the issue. I'd be checking fuel rail pressure. Any smoke?

I've seen this before and for me it was a faulty fuel pressure regulator which is located at the southern end of the fuel rail. If you check for codes I'd expect to see a P-1130.

Not a hard fix, or a overly expensive.

It may also be air in the fuel lines due to bad rings on the file supply hoses, check for air in the lines to let you know if that's the problem.

Have you tried a good dose of injector cleaner to see if that helps with the problem?
