Default & then there were 3 !

After 2 trips the start of the Victorian High Country, first to have a look at it & then with a car trailer behind my trusty XJ diesel, I am now the owner of 4wheeln's KJ CRD. Great people & well looked after jeep.

#4 rod has decided to punch a hole in the side of the block & who knows what other damage I will find inside when I get the engine out & in bits. I suspect it suffered minor hydrolock long before 4wheeln owned it. The repair is going to be long & slow.

I wish 4wheeln all the best in the future, what ever sort of car they decide to get now.

Any way 2 XJ's & a KJ should be enough for me for now.

Crikey!!!! It's quite a sight the hole in the side of a block, Damage also comes from all that metal and shaving getting into the oil system and blocking the journals . Maybe pick up an engine from a wrecker, I did see there was one up here in brissy broken timing belt issue. Maybe a frankenmotor??? Bits from a few?

Good luck with the repairs.

Yes a sad day for me as I really did love my KJ.

Hubby just did not have the confidence or the equipment to tackle this job - even an exchange would have been pushing him beyond his comfort zone so I had to be practical.

Thankyou layback40 - it was good to see my Jeep go with someone obviously with the knowledge and attitude to get the job done and back on the road.

No idea what will fill my garage space, but as we are primarily only skilled enough for oil & filter changes on anything more sophisticated than my MGB (can fix anything on that little goer) it will be the service costs and repairs that will be our main consideration.

All the best with the rebuild Layback40.

Thanks to everyone over the years that have answered my many questions.
Cheers all,
4wheeln (aka Elle)
