Is your VIN on that recall excel file that was posted?

Do you currently have a fault or waiting for a fault/pending replacement?

IF you already have an Aftermarket fitted by the dealers AWAITING for an Oem fix, its probably your BEST interest to stay on the aftermarket alternator for as long as you can to which later in the year/next year then only arrange for the OEM fitment. That is to get the most/longivity out of your parts. Which is where I am at now.

Im sure the OEM fix is no better lol...

Hi Imaz, where was the excel file posted? Definitely got a recall letter and spoken to FCA about it, but no fault. Just don't want to lose all power while driving.

In other news had my GC booked in for service and T59 brake booster recall for over a month, get to the dealership "sorry we don't have any parts for the T59 recall, maybe give us a call in 3 weeks". WTF you knew the job was coming and why is it my job to check for when parts are available?

I had my T59 done yesterday. Dealer received parts about a week ago, so they are around. Might be worth following up on yours if still outstanding.

Is yours the revised alternator or aftermarket. I’m still using the aftermarket until the revised part becomes available.

When my car was in for service last week, the service manager ordered the alternator for another customer and what arrived was the old part...

I am fine using the aftermarket since it’s of the same amperage and see no difference - Jeep can replace it at a later date as agreed and would be of best interest to me.

What’s the bet the revised part is any better!

The T59 recall is the brake booster water shield. As seems to be the norm with FCA, the part has been on back order for ages, now in stock.

Re. the alternator; mine hadn't failed but as insurance I replaced it at my own expense a few months back (Jaylec unit of same amps). I'm not holding my breath for an alternator recall on the diesel, but even if it does arise I'd need convincing that the new one is any better than original. The only benefit of letting them fit it would be an opportunity to claim the cost of the after-market part. Meanwhile, I'm very happy with the Jaylec unit.

Still no recall on the alternator for the 3.0 CRD? I Just had my 2014 diesel die in traffic. lucky I wasn't going fast because steering locked up and it just shut down. Had I been going 110 on the highway this would have been an "exciting" drive.
