Default Pulleys for 2.8CRD

After reading the Paranoia post (re alternator pulley) just wondering what would be the list of pulleys required for a full replacement.
Got 140,000km on existing so probably worth doing in another 20,000km

Midnightmods sells them.

Serpentine belt and tensioner are the main serviceable items, very important to replace with Mopar items only. Mopar tensioner also comes with a new bolt as well. Aftermarket belts are too long or too short and stress the tensioner and other pulleys out over time.

All other pulleys should be well oiled and kept clean (keep mud and dirt out of them).

The mopar tensioner does not come with a new belt, I add that free of charge
the bearings can be press fitted out of the 2 metal pullies for about $10 bucks cheap for a replacement bearing. cheaper then the 80-130 Vm want for a replacement, Keep the last fan pulley oiled and free of dirt. This thing is very costly to replace and at this stage VM has discontinued manufacturing them at this stage.

Replaced the belt tensioner about 30,000 km's ago after it failed with a factory VM part

Is there a preferred oil type for pulley lubrication and where to apply .... never approached this before
By the" fan pulley" do you mean the VISCOUS FAN CLUTCH ?
Can you oil the alternator pulley ?

The Vm unit, even genuine will only last around 70k, its designed to wear out.
If you over tighten the bolt it will increase the wear also, or use the wrong belt length.
I mean the fan hub pulley, not the viscous fan itself, the big round metal pulley the belt runs on to spin the engine fan. Any penetrating oil will do

Thanks....

Do you know off hand what the approx torque on that tensioner bolt should be
Just hand tightened when I replaced the last time
(Might be worth keeping a spare handy as I suppose they can go at anytime.)

Re: fan hub pulley
Is it what this is attached to ?

Hi Lawrence,

Could you please make a phone call to JNL Engineering in Camberley, ph: (0) 1276 63278, and ask if they can still get the fan pulley from VM, part No 10512060F? I can't see why they would discontinue the part.

The torque for the accessory belt tensioner bolt is 55Nm (40 ft. lbs.) by the book.

Eugene
