Haven't planned to join Sydney Jeep Club. I assume you are in SJC?

Yep, STT's are real good in climbing conditions, I've had a set of 245/75 for a few months now, grip is amazing, and they really really help on those steep downhill decents. Do look out for tyre rubbing though, I,ve got 2.5 in lift plus 10mm spacers alround and could never even go close to full lock, but, with wheel spacers now fitted i can turn full lock and have a heap of articulation going and never scrap a tyre. Spacers also really made the kj corner a lot better, I noticed after my lift that it was really top heave and a bit unstable, so, the increase of 2.5 inches across the wheel track makes a huge difference.
CMOHR,
I looked into wheel spacers the other week & was told they would not pass an inspection (not legal in NSW), how did you get around that?
It seems the Coppers STT's are the preferred choice & you sound happy with them. I have to agree that it's best to widen your stance, I was thinking of wider rims & wider tyres but the lack of full lock seems to be causing me some concern. Did you consider a wider tyre on your stock rims, instead of spacers? Also did you put your 10mm lift spacers in when you did your lift or later?

Tents huh? Nice. I'm still trying to think of a way to get a tourer style canvas tent in the KJ

I've priced the Rancho + pedders and it's about the same as rusty's coil lift kit. I do like the rancho's proven longer rear strut extension length though.

The Ironman is just under 1k *installed* but it's not proven and I'm hesitant to go with something that isn't proven.

So looks like rancho + pedders

Here's a tip for people running winches, I've just raised the front of my KJ by about half an inch. I replaced the steel cable with Dynamica synthetic rope, and the roller fairlead with a HDPE hawse. Lightened my wallet by quite a bit too. No more stupid kinked cable though.

Default Contact has been made

Gents,

I have installed an 8mm strut top plate over the top of my front struts, same beast as CRDSTU. I have jacked it up today to see what it looks like at full droop/flex to find my UBJ getting quite intimate with my 2nd from the bottom coil winding. I rested a piece of paper in there then jacked it up. It was held fast so it has a bit of weight on it. I have found a small hole in the boot on one side, the other doesnt have a hole. The only question is, did the hole get created at install of the OTT spacer or was it due to the friction of the two mating faces. I am running a OME 40mm lift with the OTT spacer.

Is it possible to replace the boot by itself or is it a non servicable component & im up for a set of Jeepinbyal Upper A arms?

After yesterdays run in the sand I expect there to be lots of sand in there grinding away my UBJ.
