So 4 hours to pull it apart. How long for the cleaning and to out her back together?
Hi Grippy

Apologies for the late reply

Putting it back together took approximately the same time. It helps a lot to label stuff beforehand, and take pics along the way.

Would not like to do all of this again though

Cheers

Hello guys,

I suspect i have the same problem, coolant leaking down from the top somewhere onto the transmission and down onto the pan on my 2013/2014 jeep grand cherokee. Just cannot see where its coming from at the top.

Im gonna attempt this fix, however have a question or 2.
What is the right coolant i must use and where can i buy it?

Also where can i buy that silicone hose to do the repair?

Thanks alot

I use red Nulon available everywhere, just make sure the coolant is OAT and your good.
Hose available at any decent auto shop or tradies type hose, nuts and bolts shop.

I'm using Penrite OAT.

Even the OE Mopar OAT is similarly priced, unlike most OE components!

Valvoline who used to make Dexcool, which was the same as Mopar OAT, tested the current Mopar OAT and determined it is exactly the same as Zerex Dexcool.

Buy whichever one is cheaper because they are he same.

Mates in US always used Zerex in their Jeeps for the same reason I always used Nulon, can get it anywhere ................. important not getting HOAT mixed with OAT but I think after studying the form guide on both years back I came to the conclusion that its all about longetivity than anything else, they can leave it in longer with OAT......could be incorrect though..........

Indeed. It probably comes from the same barrel. I don't think any vehicle manufacturer makes their own oils & fluids. Most charge a hefty premium to flog it in their own packaging, but at least the Mopar stuff is priced competitively.
