I just lited the airbox out, if you get a straight lift thenit pops off its rubber mounts.
Unfortunately if you get it a bit off centre it can break the plasic mounting pins

Got Blue hoses, but put the mesh hose protectors from the old pipes back on and the blue is barely noticable.
Did your old pipes have any oil in them?

mate all turbo pipes have oil in them. it blows through because the oil vapour coming out of the rocker cover is routed into the turbo air intake. quite normal in all diesel vehicles.

Absolutely covered in oil, inside and out. Areas around pipe in the drivers side also splattered with oil.

MM, I siliconed the AEV snorkel to the air box, so it had to come out as one unit. Must have used half a tube of silicone when I installed it. Completely waterproof.

Yep the AEV is more difficult to do this way as yu've pointed out. Teh one i lifted was ( IIRC ) a Safari which whilst a horrible design under the bonnet was in this case easier to work on.

Hi guys, I know this thread is so old its on a stone tablet, but does anyone know where I can get just the intercooler to inlet hose from off the shelf somewhere near to the Sunshine Coast. My turbo to intercooler hose was replaced at 70k and I now have 205k on the clock with no problems (when it was replaced under warranty the dealer said it was a new part number and therefore I think it must have been updated), but the other one has finally blown and I'm in limp mode.. Dealer here is quoting nearly $400+labour just for this one hose. I know I can fit myself.. just have to get hold of one.
Thanks in advance.
