I've haven't made it too a Jambo yet for various reasons. This year I booked time off work so that I could go. Being single, the cost is not as bad for me but my biggest concern is that there will be a very small turn out. The main reason to go is to meet up with Jeepers from around the country, if its just a bunch of corporates and newbies that just dont get it, I wont be going.

We have a few from the Cherokee Club going up. They do not frequent this forum so just letting you know that there are other Jeepers out there that will be going. Looking forward to the trip. We enjoyed the trip down to Melbourne and the great Jamboree. Some of the club members attended the previous Jamboree(s) held in QLD and are very excited about getting up there to meet some old friends and have a great time.

I'll be there and not because I'm a club member of the QLD Jeepers, but I know i will be catching up with old friends and meeting like minded people. I'm fortunate that cost isn't an issue as I have one jeep and no have any dependents.
I hope the Jambo Commitee addresses the cost issues and are able to make this event more cost effective for everyone.
P.S I'm not on the jambo commitee and I wasn't at the last club meeting so I'm unaware of the costings.

I've love to go, but I can't justify $1000+ (minimum) plus a long drive from Melbourne when we're hoping to spend a month or so in Thailand later this year.

I was planning on going initially but by this stage i would have liked to know more about what i am getting for my money.

The VIC jambo was great because the website and all marketing materials were very clear about the schedule and the packages and exactly what you were paying for.

So i voted no, i won't be attending this year - for that kind of money i'll be going on holidays elsewhere

Thanks Tigger for the complement re Jambo 2004. However, I mut say it took a huge effort as a few other posters on here can tesify.

Price is high but Jambo 2006 will be the biggest one yet. It beats any holiday especially when you get to catch up with some folks only once every 2 years from different parts of this beautiful country.

Hopefully the committee will review the prices. At this stage, irrespective of costs, I am planning on going with the family, but I am not sure if I will be in the country due to work committments.

Ok maybe going out on a limb here - but this is just my honest 2cents worth......
2002 was less expensive than 2004, which in turn was less expensive than 2006.
I personally felt the 2002 Jambo was a too pricey.
I personally would prefer to see a "simpler" jambo, not one that tries to out-do the last....otherwise where does it end?
For me a Jamboree should be about Jeepers appeciating their and other Jeeps, about enjoying each other company around a campfire over a few (or more) bevvies, and some social (ie non-competative) trail drives.....

I would be more than happy to see less marketing, less flash, less circus tents, less bands.
Less $$ invested and attract more Jeepers.
Oh yeah I'd rather see it less flashy so that it could more feasibly be held once a year.

That or should we just book the Novatel & Darling harbour convesion centre for 2008

Anyhow that's just my 2.25cents if anyone cares or listens.......
