If yours is a 98 good luck getting the fog lights to work. I tried to get mine to work to no avail. I even tried using the switch to trigger my driving lights but found it could not be done. Due to the design of the switch it does not have a regular off and on function which for me meant it blew the fuse each time I tried switching the lights on. I believe the earlier models had a slightly different switch.

Regards A

The pre-updates have two different styles of switches for the rear fog lamps, the different styles coincide with OBD1 and OBD2, OBD1 uses a normal on-off switch, the OBD2 uses a momentary style switch.
Mine used to use the rear fog lamp switch for the driving lights, hence no rear fog lamps, now I'm on OBD2 I now have rear fogs working which meant I needed a new switch for the driving lights, I ended up using an OBD1 switch in the place of the trans switch which the OBD2's don't use....

This is why I asked what year model....

That's what I should have sourced. I ended up getting a switch from Jaycar to fit in the factory fog light switch location. I couldn't even get my fogs to work. I tried popping in a relay in the spot it was meant to go and also a fuse but nothing. I had the globes in the tail lights for them though. So it must be able to be done. Not that I wanted them regardless I was more so looking for a main switch for my IPFs.

Regards

As far as I remember the rear fog lights switch is a negative(ground/minus) wire switching.
To use that switch you have to tap in the switch wire than run a wire to a relay that has the one end of the coil the plus 12 volts trough a fuse and the other end of relay coil to the taped wire.
This is only the control side of it.
Load side of it can be than wired in the normal fashion .

Andrei
