Default Garage Floor Covering

Hi All,
Not sure where I should be posting this one so please let me know if its the wrong area for this.
I have been trying to get off my ass and trick up the old garage a little. The floor is "a little rustic", its actually pretty smooth concrete but with a few cracks, stains, marks etc. The walls are brick and the brickwork is pretty nasty which i also want to cover up but that's a job for later.

I was looking at these and wondered if anyone has any experience with them or anything else that may help really. I like the idea of black and grey checked designing the floor but don't want it to be a temporary fix. The garage is probably just over 60m2 so its still going to cost over $1500.00 for this.

Will work out heaps cheaper to use something like this http://www.bergerjetdry.com.au/produ...FVgnvQodmYgAIg Not that I dont like the stuff you are looking at but to me its more for a show garage than a working garage.

Don't have them but when I worked on a project involving V8 supercars a fair few of the teams carted them around to make their pit areas more comfortable to work in and also look more pro for the media and public - used team colours etc . Apparently very hardy. Oil and fuel resistant too you would hope!

Cheers mate, know where you're coming from for the cost point. I already tried painting an area of it to see what happens because its smooth concrete that gets some water and i was warned to expect issues. It wrinkled up and went nasty. I spoke to the bloke at the local Taubmans and was told that i'd need to acid etch it or something...

It started sounding technical (and dangerous) so i gave up because I am also trying to hide a few chips and bolt holes. Used the paving paint on my driveway and it looks great. Also, the paint scratches when i put the stand down on my bike too, if it was in the garage it would give me the poos.

Have a look at garage journal. Plenty of information about concrete floor coverings. The tiles will be more comfortable if you spend time on the ground. Also not cold like concrete.

I spoke to the bloke at the shop. He said they will last ages, non slip, easy to clean and reasonably non marking from tyres. I would assume if you are straight in and out and not being silly it shouldn't mark it up too bad at all. Seems like a good product?? They sell another one which apparently looks better for showrooms but they do mark and will wear easier.

I just don't want to throw $1500 at something that lasts 6 months and ends up looking worse than the concrete.

I reckon the JK will look pretty sweet on black and grey checkered floor tiles. He said he is getting other colours next year, black and yellow... tonka??? nah...
