Talking Tommo's Fugly Fab Fread

Next mod - to be made with minimal tools, as my new sydney apartment doesn't hold them all so they went into storage...

Problem: The new 35 x 12.5s stick out a little... like about 2 or 3 inches... which will get me pinged sooner or later.
Solution: A set of flares.

First thing that comes to mind...

Get a couple of old crappy tyres from a tyre place that they were just gonna throw out (the more off-road the tyres, the higher fugly points), cut them into longitudinal strips with a band saw/jig saw/hack saw/crap saw/stanley knife, and bolt onto jeep where current flares are attached. Should end up looking like another tyre sticking out off the sided of the jeep over the top of the real tyre.

Reckon it will work?
- I reckon it might.
Reckon it will make my jeep look even fuglier?
- I thought so too.
Will it fit the bill from the legality side of things?
- I think so.

Tomme there are other ways mate. About $70 to buy some nice rubber flare extention trim from any reputable 4wd shop and self tapper screw them into the under lip of the existing gaurds. I have done this and it doesnt look bad. Not great I grant you but ok. New flares at 800+ are way down the list . Cheaper and fuglier is the garden edging option. This does not have my vote. But old tyres,,,, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan c'mon dont do it.

Garden edging... Hmmmm...
Not as fugly, but would be easier... and fugliness usually boils down to cheapness and easiness in the end.
