no issues with water entry I think all the dust helped keep it out. the dust became mud up against the seals but nothing got into the car via the seals. I will say not all went perfect on the trip as the allen headed bolts holding the drive shaft to the front diff became loose and required tightening, I noticed a vibration from the front end when we returned to bitumen thought it was a tyre issue but found the bolts had loosened and there was no loctite or thread lock on any of the bolts once retightened and I had some thead lock on them no further issues or vibration

I'd want to know the effect on engine air supply of that design. Not sure it looks all that better either, just different.
