Default Maintenance

Thought I would start a thread where we could all share ideas of how to fix our Jeeps. It was a huge reason why i joined a car specific club, the pool of knowledge. Now of course I would need this kind of thing as i seem to be always breaking mine. In fact i will admit the list this year is very long!

This weeks problem for Rohan.

Winch (brawn)

Winds in then when i stop it pulls out. Not free spool out but rope goes out and motor whirrs. Travels out until the weight stops pulling. I think it is the brake in the drum.

What do you reckon sounds like a good diagnosis?

Is it an easy enough fix?

Who fixes them?

Where do you get parts?

Ohh and the other problem is that i pulled the cable out of the plug that pins into the top of the winch for the switch. There is three wires but it is a seven pin plug (numbered) which one goes where? If any one knows that would be great but if anyone could have a look at theirs and let me know that would be good also.

Robbo it will be indeed, and they graded it a "C" trip as well, up to 3 convoys, we will need traffic lights on the Coopers Crossing of the Thompson River.
