FWIW there's a third party enhancement application called vLite (Vista lite) which allows you to remove unwanted bloat-ware etc. it can be found

HERE, I guess they got sick of others cutting and shutting their products ie. 98lite, 2000lite, XPlite and now Vista lite

Yeah I've got fond memories of the Vic-20 era... in fact being the consummate hoarder that I am I still have my original unit plus the 16k expander
I use XP when I have no option (ie. gaming) otherwise 99.9% of the time I'm operating Linux
