Hey Supaman
Sorry to go a bit off topic.. but I have had a problem with my timing belt having lost a few teeth... smashed all the rockers like yours.. what did the top of the pistons look like? did you have to replace them too?... Mines in the shop right now and they have just given me the bad news.... they can replace all the rockers, belt etc..but they cant guarantee the pistons and bottom end is going to be ok..

According to VM wisdom the rockers are sacrificial in this type of F up.

Unfortunately its a common occurrence...... but doesn't seem to do much more than be a PITA and break a lot of rockers.

So... odds are in your favor for the pistons and bottom end.

I would assume you turned over the motor and checked your work before starting? If that checks out off the top of my head it sounds like a fuel pressure issue, i'm not that familiar with the diesel jeeps, but there might be a way to bleed the system of air or some after service procedure that needs to be done, or possibly some computer wizardry, injector correction factors/progragramming and then some fuel injection correction values as theres a few tolerences involved, check the basics first, its usually something simple

good luck

Default Photo of failed timing belt

Thought I would share a photo of my failed timing belt... they don't snap, break or shred... they (like some of us oldies ) simply lose their teeth!
