I would first eliminate the front sway bar, as our jeep sway bars have a metal clip on them which clunks when the sway bar moves side to side.

I'm with Barbzy, 9 times out of 10 it will be the front sway bar bushes, which is a cheap fix.
If that doesn't fix it the next thing to check IMO, is the front diff mount, it probably isn't the fault but is worth checking and is another cheap, easy fix.
If the front diff mount is o.k, IMO, swap out the upper and lower control arms, cheap from the U.S.
Then you have a set of upper and lower control arms, that you can replace the bushes, when you can spare the cash.

Do i just swap out the bushes or is it easier to swap out the entire control arms top and bottom? Your advice is much appreciated. Cheers.
HEY No Mates

i too thought it was my control arms as i felt my steering was fine, but apon closer inspection (leaning out the door looking at the wheels) i noticed a little play(very little),so i tightened the rack and wal la, no more clunks.

Default Thanks

Thanks for all your help everyone!
Currently looking at a few and assuming later WH is better.
My budget will run to around a 2008 as things look at the moment as I gather later WH models had some upgrades.
Are the limited a better buy with the extras?

This is worth a serious look IMO, if you were going to build-up whatever you get, don't mind the high KMs and are in the area;

The Saguaro front and rear bars on it are the bees knees.

Default I Bought a Jeep

Thanks to all who helped with info and things to check.
Now the owner of a 2009 WH CRD 3.0 V6 Laredo and after the first few days we are settling in to each other.
It's due an oil and filter change soon and I gather that using the correct oil and filter is pretty important.
In the experience of forum members, what are the recommended oil/s and filter/s?
I also gather that filling with clean and fresh fuel is good. Have both BP and Shell servos near me - would prefer BP (I think their Ultimate Diesel is OK for the CRD).
Still learning all the bits and pieces so will be continuing to ask about all sorts of stuff!

Use MANN filters, they supply Jeep and Mercedes.
I use the Spares Box
