Default Cabin Equalization Curve Number

I'm interested to know what Cabin Equalization Curve Number values are in your JK BCM. Apparently this is a value that correlates to the sound settings in the Infinity amp according to the speaker and head unit package. My 2008 JKUR has value of 158.000 according to Alphaobd.

The sound quality is very poor after installing an android head unit. Very weak subwoofer volume and soundbar fill. Changing can bus settings has not improved the sound. It is well known that unplugging the hardtop connector for the rear wiper affects the sound output from the amp for some but not all JKs (reduces subwoofer volume and boosts bass to front speakers). I suspected that the amp may not be receiving the necessary can bus signal to output the 'top on' EQ curve (increased subwoofer volume and less bass to front speakers). Plugging in the rear wiper connnector interrupts the amp output (mutes for a moment) but doesn't change sound output for my system.

This leads me to question if the Cabin Equalization Curve Number value in the BCM is still appropriate for the Android head unit and accompanying can box, or if there are other config changes that could be made via Alphaobd to restore the 'factory' sound output. (Not interested in aftermarket amps and subs)

So I'd be interested to know what Cabin Equalization Curve Number value is set in your JK Unlimiteds, in particular 2008-2010. Also, if unplugging the rear wiper connnector whilst the stereo is playing changes the sound output from the subwoofer and other speakers for you (with stock or aftermarket HU).

Thanks heaps!

From my limited understanding of Cabin Equalization Curve Numbers, they are EQ presets programmed into your amp for the combination of amp, sub and speakers. I don't reckon the EQ is vastly different for hard top on or off so it might not be the solution to your problem but out of interest, can you see a different Curve Number before and after the rear wiper is plugged in?

What model Android head unit did you install? What CAN interface module did it come with? Your issue sounds similar to the issues I read about long ago when we had older less intelligent head units and they didn't install it with something like the PAC RP4CH111 kit's CAN interface module.

Still, two things you can do is set the head unit fader to output only to the front speakers if you haven't already done so because aftermarket head units can only output to the front channels of the amp (not sure about the sub) and you can stuff some polyfill in the sound bar to help the sound quality a little, not massively but noticeably.

Thanks for the reply st_za.
The head unit is a K2501 4GB/64GB Android 11 with a BNR-JP01 CAN Decoder.
The cabin EQ curve number doesn't seem to change with a change in rear wiper plug status.
I found a post in a Challenger forum that stated an EQ number of "223" for their Alpine 8ch premium system. I entered this and got a significant change in speaker output, however as it is the incorrect EQ number for my Infinity 8ch amp and sub package, the subwoofer channels are not low-pass-filtered.
Entering "158" returns the sound output to the previous configuration as described in first post (front biased and very low subwoofer volume).
Entering other numbers so far has had no effect, some numbers are not recognised/accepted by the BCM which sets the EQ number to what appear to be various predefined values. Also, the .000 sufix seems to be a default decimal value that seems to be superfluous, with only the integers being valid, which can be one, two or three digits in length. Eg. entering a value of "2" will register as "2.000" in AlphaOBD and "223" as "223.000".

So, I'm still very interested to find other Cabin Equalization Curve Numbers from other Jeeps to try if anyone can oblige?

Cheers!
