They could of been in my engine for a lot longer than 200 000K's.
Many of us on here have racked up some serious mileage in our XJ's. I have never heard of anyone ever complain about plug life. Chrysler have made more than three million of these donks and I have never heard of any advantage in using an exotic plug. Even by the yanks, and they have dynoed this engine extensively. If you want to achieve massive life from your plugs, well go ahead and try it.

Mrs Commodore was running like shit for ages, altho the plugs had supposedly 120k, on a 100k change cycle, when i changed them, never seen more eroded in my life.

imo a guy can use the most expensive plug he wants, but realistically they still should be examined/changed at Service Interval.

as the previous writers stated, only a real life trial will be of value.

my info says more spark is not worth the effort on a motor such as ours

There's also the cost

If standard copper type plugs are $3 or $4 each and last 100k

And iridium/platinum are $20 to $27 each and last 200k

Unless there a massive performance / economy improvement why waste the money

My price comparison is a general price guide for ngk plugs on Google

I take my hat off to you guys.

just wondering.....how many klm you guys get out of your standard factory mineral engine oil and filter?
