I have found I have a leaking head gasket. Ah well. Out with the tools. Suppose it will keep me out of trouble working on it.

The chassis has holes in the same spots
just so water etc can escape when I hose it out

Took the head lining out.


I reckon I'm just goin to paint it, using some flexi-coat. I'll paint the console too, and the trim.


.... always stickin his head in..... yeah, the ball is hangin off his tooth.....


I also just received some replacement LED bulbs for the roof console. $4 for 10, delivered. We'll see how they go....
******** they're bright though.

time to investigate my diesel smell, think it could be the injector return lines, and the old girl has a few misses when it fires up on a cold morning,
replaced one the other week as I come out of an auto parts shop and there was a puddle of diesel on the ground

Injector return line is expensive for the good stuff. I got a meter of it a few months ago. Always make them too long, that way if they start to leak, you can cut 1/2" off & reuse the bit of line.
Missing on cold mornings is more likely a dead GP.

Yeah I can't believe I fitted 33's on the XJ and about to fit the rebuilt front bar with new winch cradle, recessed the winch down 55mm to hide the XJ's 5" lift
Next on the build list, rear bar and sliders after the flares/ fender clearance cuts
