Remember most jeep parts are not Australian made. Most accessories are from China so dont be fooled by claims of quality unless the goods are made to spec, most arent. I support one local QLD Jeep parts store because they are a fair price and have good service.

I agree with local things being way too expensive. I am all for supporting local businesses.
After contacting NolanUDA - a soft-top company in Aus - looking for a particular part of my soft top hardware they took almost a week to replay which I was happy with to tell me they couldn't source what I was looking for and instead quoted me ~$900 for a brand new soft top. Looked on Qudratec's site - American accessories - and found the part I was looking for for ~$30 + ~$60 shipping
I hate buying online because you can never be sure of the quality till it arrives but it is /so/ much cheaper!

Don't forget also that local businesses also provide local warranty support.
Just some try harder for your business than others I guess.

Every time I try to support local if within 10% I get ripped off.
Last was "Burson auto parts" Quoted $50.00 to test my TCM to confirm it was good or quote on the repair.

"Bursons auto parts" then advised they cannot test any Jeep TCM newer than 2005.

Plus their quote had increased from $50.00 to $67.00 for advising me they could not work on it.
Plus "Bursons" wont hand over my TCM till I pay Bursons $67.00. (never mind guys in 2 days my USA TCM will be here, that threat wont work) ....the manager then chases me out to the carpark he now has a broken TCM going cheap!

I am of the opposite view, if overseas /usa can supply for 10% more I would rather go there.

Except ....what I should have done is gone to "Sunco" they do stay within or less than their quotes and do know jeep but their price was nearly double vs USA direct.

probably offer a better warranty to.
Appreciate the differing views (bit lost with the Asia thing...)

I often get better service from the EBay seller in my experience - press buy it now and it turns up at the front door.

As for after sales advice - in this case there's not that much to give - connect positive, connect negative

And warranty - for $6 who cares, I can buy 8 more before I start to lose money based on the inflated price.

Like RenegadeDom said, if prices are decent I usually try to buy local and support local business. But in this case - you'll never convince me that the extra $46 is worth it - it is nothing more than a handling charge - Oh and of course, the sticker....

I got some LEDs from the same guy, then saw them in Supercheap auto the following week without the 250% markup

As infuriating as it was, I should have done my homework
