Hey guys before I take the plunge and buy the lower arms just wondering if there are any other checks I can do to make sure they are in fact the problem? Really grindy/noisey now not only when turning but also bouncing the front end up and down, hitting bumps etc.

Just a little strapped at the moment and would hate to replace them only to find out it was something else.

Also ive been told by the previous owner the lower ball joints were replaced 4 years ago 2 or which Whitecloud was barely used.

Cheers!

This noise is definitely ball joint related
You can pick up a set for $100
If you're handy with a spanner, remove the lower control arms
Organise a reputable workshop to press them out/in $50
Wheel alignment $80
A days work and you're on your way

It could be your uppers as well. Mine did it too. Ended up buying these ball joints and pressing the old ones out and new ones in: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ball-Join...3D172587525087

Here are the LCA bushes: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Jeep-Gran...EAAOSw-YVXmf7I

Here are the lower BJ's (if you're considering the press option): http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-FRONT-R...53.m1438.l2649

Thanks for your input guys!

I'm somewhat handy however bit of a novice in mechanics.
Was thinking of investing in my own press.. That is if something like this would do the job?

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/252722666532

Yeah, na mate
Looks like el-cheapo G clamp with fittings
I used one of these \/ and still managed to bend it out of shape
But I replaced all of the bushes too

For that price a reputable workshop can swap ball joints out
Where about's are you located, in this great country?
Maybe someone in your local area can make a recommendation?

Cheers

You'll need at least a 12T press.
