Thought I had a transmission problem and more dollar bills began to float before my eyes as I weighed up my options. Nothing happened when I popped it into drive and the transfer case wouldn't move either. I went down to the local automatic reconditioners and he immediately said it was the transfer case. OK, so we jumped under the car for a more detailed look and it turned out to be the transfer case lever had popped out of its locating hole
and the case was in neutral. After a bit of work with a block and tackle we fixed it and we went for a very satisfying drive up the road.
One thing I am pleased about is the huge 7 bladed central mounted belt driven cooling fan. I cant see me having any overheating problems. Can't say the same about the 42re auto. Heat is the killer for them and an external cooler is a must.
