Tomorrow I'll get the spare tyre fitted onto the new rim
to double check for tyre clearances
Looks good, I've been playing around with a 0 offset in a 16 to try and see if that's a possibility, been on the back burner while other things get sorted out, but it does seem really close on my 2005.

I had +30 offset rims on the Commander, they worked a treat. Gave good clearance on the upper ball joint bolt, for 265x65's and no rubbing on the liner.

I run +30 with pinch weld mod and 2" lift
265/70R17 slight rub on inner guard on full lock, rubbed bad if U turn at speed. Rear outer guard needed 10mm trim to stop it chewing the outer sidewall of the tyres.

255/75r17 are a better fit IMO almost eliminated all front rubbing (except U turn) and nil rub on rear (but I had already taken 10mm of the lip)

Thanks Guys,

Yeah it took me a while to do the math.
There's offset, backspacing & rim width to take into account.
Happy to report 265/70R17 on these rims sits fine
Eliminated rubbing on front guard inner liner on 3/4 lock
Eliminated rubbing on front sway bar on full lock
Traction control kicking in on full lock all but eliminated
Won't know what's it's like under flex until I get them all fitted and into the bush
Looks promising
(*needed to remove o'ring on discs and will need different wheel nuts too)

Default Last Engine Oil Leak ... please

Bit quiet here tonight
So I've bitten the bullet ... finally
Hopefully the last engine oil leak

Oil Filter Housing seals

There are two gaskets and both of mine were leaking
Mercedes PN: 6421840080 & 6421801410

The hardest part was figuring out the safety clip on the oil pressure sensor electrical connector faces down

Had to remove intercooler inlet pipe & drive belt tensioner to get to the bottom bolts of the housing
Once remove I was then able to split the housing into two pieces and replace both gaskets
Made sure I used some RTV silicone to hold them both in place until sealed and and torqued down.

While I was under the bonnet I noticed a fuel leak at the fuel filter sensor
Last time I replaced the o'rings I only used rubber ones
So this time I'm trialling Nitrile o'rings
Lower o'ring 14x2.5
Upper o'ring 15x2.5
This is on a Coopers filter

Default New Look

Five new rims finally
1/2" UNF black wheel nuts
Some black paint around the axles and end of CV shafts
Starting to look like a zombie apocalypse vehicle
