Cool Pcs New Commander Crd

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello All,
What a great forum to ask some questions and get some tips. I have a couple if anyone can help;
1.My CRD is averaging 16-18 on the trip computer with around town driving....how does this fare?
2.Does anyone know where to buy the D PILLAR ROOF ASSIST HANDLES on the back of the Limited as I have ROOF RACKS AND USE THEM DAILY.
3.I have been hearing some knocks and rattles in my Front lEFT SUSPENSION...HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE.

Apart from that what a great truck to drive.....beats my old Landy hands down.

1. Ouch, that's thirsty. I usually get around 12.5 to 14, but that includes a little motorway driving too. If all your driving is stop/start, under 80ks stuff, I guess 18l/100 is reasonable ?

2. Call a dealer to get the part number and then call Wooders.

3. Check that the wheel nuts are tight ! There shouldn't be any clunking going on in the IFS.

1) When I drive around town - all under 80 and traffic lights etc - I get about the same as you 16-18, but I reset it once on a freeway and 4 hours later I had averaged 9-10.

And I agree - they are a nice truck to drive.

Default Fuel Consumption

My commander as less that 200k and appears to be at 15l/100. Mostly stop start traffic and only small runs yet. I will see how it goes when it has done a few thousand. Great truck. It is my first Jeep and I am so far very pleased.

Unhappy Commander 3 Crd Poor Economy

I think I know why the fuel economy is so bad .......took it to the Dealer and it needs a new Cat Converter ....hopefully this will fix the knocking noises as well. Has anyone had any problems with noisy front bushes squeking badly whilst going over speed bumps slowly ?
Still Love the Truck though and as I told the Dealer ( who has been good ) I am glad its got a 3 Year Warranty as I have been towed in twice now !
It is probably lucky I had a Landy before as I am used to waiting for DealershipCourtesy Buses .

Years ago we went through a big batch of bad cats ( not the furry kind ). They would rattle like mad, some would almost choke the exhuast. WJ V8s mainly.

Let us know how you go, those noisy bushes are a worry.
