Default Sydney mechanic & autotrans recommendations

G;day,

I need to either swap or repair the auto in the '96 XJ (no reverse..) Just wanted to check for recommendations of Jeep sympathetic mechanics as well as auto trans places in the Sydney/wollongong/central coast area?

If anybody has a good, spare AW4 with know history for sale pls let me know.

Cheers/martin

I got mine rebuilt here :-

Hornsby MD Automatics
Motor Engineers & Repairers - Hornsby, NSW
(02) 9987 0309
Address
9 Salisbury Rd, Hornsby NSW 2077, Australia

His price was pretty good and was very upfront about what would cost what etc, did a good job as well and when I asked some tricky AW4 questions he knew what I was talking about so was familiar with the trans which is the most important bit.

Cheers
Steve

Here is what a brand new one from Quadratec will cost you:

I'm sure there is a local source as well, but gives you an idea. Would need to add shipping costs to that figure.
