There is NO COIL SYSTEM than can match what the air system does, it is either too soft what fully laden or tooooo hard when unladen. My last 4x4 was a GU Ti Series 6 Patrol. I had it for 10years, in that time I changed the suspension system & shocks over 8 times trying to get a compromise between load & no load, I was just about to put AIR bags under it but SWMBO said we needed a new 4X4. Best move I made.

One more thing... Range Rover has air, Nissan y62 has Hydraulic Body Motion Control suspension (front and rear) (HBMC). Mitsubishi is going to have something similar on new Pajero. L/Cruiser are going air on the new 300 series.

Ask yourself why are they all doing this? Jeep like Range Rover saw the light long ago & offered it.... to be at the front of the pack!
I agree partially with Starion. I had a GU coil cab ute built mainly for rock crawling but toured a bit and used airbags in the rear coils even when unladen to control spring feel.

While I really like the ORAII which I have, It feels very stiff off road and mine is very noisy even in offroad 1 setting. I have LLAMS but haven't fitted it yet. If I was buying my GC to go mainly offroad it would be coil spring all the way but do love the onroad ride of the quadralift and granted for towing I think it would be excellent.

Wow thanks guys. Seems very positive, and sounds like more pros then the cons. I think a 5.7l with quadralift might be the winner but still need to test drive both.

Once you have experienced QL ( for more that a day) you will never go back.

I might be the only one who prefers the steel. [Lifted]

I really like being able to drive around at the full height all the time, never had an issue with suspension loading with different weights as the rear self levelling shocks take care of it.
