Well, speak of the devil, I got the P41 letter today in the mail. I was a little taken aback that they were able to find me as a registered owner, but nonetheless pleased that they made the effort.

Like I said previous, I've managed to turn the ignition off with my knee while the car was driving. I'm not sure what the recall will do, or if it will resolve that issue. It may require a recall of my knee to resolve it once and for all!

So, if I take the car in when (if) the parts are made available, will FCA also do the P73 firmware upgrade at the same time?

PS: still have 4 low after driving to and from work today, maybe I should go into business...

Cheers,

Robert

The recall swaps out the key barrel, with the new one you need to push the key in then turn the ignition off.

That's the way I feel about it as well. The service manager stated that "not all cars need it only if there's an issue" obviously they want to save money as well regardless of a official recall.

After this N23 I feel reluctant to want anything else changed out esp when I personally haven't had an issue with it.

Robert
They way it works if FCA send a letter to the address on their records( sales servise etc). If the don't get a response after a certain time they ask the RMS for the address of the registered owner and send a letter there.

Thanks Robert. I have been having hassles for months then last week would not select low range. Ordered Blue Driver last week it arrived today. Now have low range back after following your instructions. Also have 3 glow plugs to replace. Thanks Mate.

You are welcome buddy!

Bluedriver is the best scan tool under $1000, or maybe even $2000!

Thanks Robert!

I have been plagued by the SERVICE 4WD SYSTEM. I have resorted to having the dealer run the P73 again, which clears it for a couple of months or so. I have since bought the bluetooth scanning tool and followed your procedure and the code is cleared. I also know I can clear it whenever it appears again.

Was also able to clear a persistent (and wrong) TPMS code.

Thanks again

Chris

Mate I'm happy to hear I was able to help. My bluedriver never leaves the OBD 2 port of the Jeep. That is unless it's to delete codes on a neighbour's jeep!
