MY08 JKU Sport Manual 3.8 165,000km

DD. Had ~70k when I bought it in 2010. Haven't driven much of anywhere in the last few years. Replaced the clutch when the ToB died 2 years ago, & the exhaust for a failed cat last year. (The cost of a Y pipe was so high I could finally justify a set of Ripp long Tube Headers!)

2015 3.6 manual jku with 114000km on it. Had the front right axle seal, the gearbox output shaft seal and a wheel speed sensor replaced under warranty but other than that it's been awesome. It's done the Cape (including the gunshot) and Fraser island without a drama.

So it seems that the JK engines r OK (Petrol 3.8; 3.6 and diesels). Things that wear r the things needing repair or because the vehicle is given a bit off stick. Is this all correct?

Seems like we are mostly using on weekends, although there are daily drivers in the thread.

I recently saw a YouTube video where one of the owners concluded that the car can be setup for either rock crawl, or touring, but not both due to the weight of the car from under body protection, big wheels and tyres, rack, cargo and pax. He actually blew the 3.8L motor. I am sure that he had worked it very hard over the years.

I am wondering if we are eventually going to see high mileage on these different wrangler engines down the track like the 4.0L I6.

08 2 Dr. CRD 145kms daily driver, weekend plaything, AEV lift, locked, 33's, too much crap(never enough) to list.
Bought at 80kms, new single mass conversion clutch and flywheel at 90, (known weak issue with diesel manuals and previous owner had towed a bit) just done injectors, battery about 3 years ago, samco turbo hoses about 4 years ago and whatever I've bent offroad (std. and Terra flex track bar, tierod and 2 new ball joints) . I don't count them as issues as they were self inflicted.
Normal/scheduled filter/belt etc. changes.

my 17 jku 3.6
as a daily. 19k kms.
just put 285/70/17 wheels and tyres, increased petrol usage so far by 1l/100 though i expect it will go higher.
had issue with lack of power in the higher gears and lower revs (around 60k/h) jeeps solution was due to the air intake which apparently was 'common' so jeeps answer was to reshape the connection from the box to the pipe to allow more air flow.
other than that the jeep has been great, though using an idrive has helped

MY09 JKU CRD manual, 165k kms, daily driver, built for camping and overlanding (I do local trips at least once per month, and longer remote trips a few times per year), track car tow rig, all rounder really.

So far been a great vehicle, no probs whatsoever.

2" lift, 35" tyres, Teraflex front axle housing, and 4.11 ratios, for the last 40k kms, prior to that had 33"s on stock diffs and ratios all its life.

3" exhaust, dyno tuned with EGR deleted, catch can fitted, and secondary 2 micron fuel filter fitted for the last 60k kms.

HD clutch and single mass flywheel conversion fitted 100k kms ago.

Regular maintenance all its life, last timing belt change at 90k kms.

MY 12 JKU 3.6 Manual 89000km purchased with 61000km 2 years ago. Hope to keep as long as I had my old 96 XJ Limited that I owned from 2000 to 2016 purchased with 59000km and had 285000km when sold. The XJ towed our camper all over Aus.
