I finally tracked down where the previous owner mounted the UHF radio. Up under the dash behind the glove box. I had to take out the plastic trim that sits around the cabin filter to find it.

I hope he didn't pay good money for it to be installed as it was held in place by a couple of cable ties, So yes, I'd say he did pay for a 4x4 specialist to install it.

Now it's found, I can mount an external speaker near my seat.

Why would you fit it there, most f the ones I have fitted that are remote units I just stick em to the floor under the seat with a bit of Nails or No More gaps, works well and if it has a small head unit some double sided tape holds them in a dash pocket really good, need to prise them off when selling, no more holes..

I painted the grill and tailgate trim with the Graphite looking stuff, ended up looking like shit, so, some peeled off, prepsol made short work of the rest of it 😁

I don't know why either as it seems to me an unnecessarily complex operation having to pull all the trim out. They then had to use the mic extension lead so the mic can reach the driver.

They also ran the aerial lead smack through the middle of the grill mesh for some reason. I was looking at relocating the aerial but it means having to pull it all out from the cabin back to run it under the grill and where I want it.

Spent the morning removing the roof rails so I could give the whole roof a polish, bloody hell could not believe what was underneath there, especially under each plasitic end, took all of 5 mins to remove each rail, looks a million bucks all cleaned up, reinstalled the screws with a little coppercote on the threads
