Default Strzelecki Track

So I have some time off during Easter...was planning on spending some time in the Flinders Ranges then heding up the Strzelecki track to Innamincka and then back down the Camerons corner.....whats the sitution with the Old Strzelecki Track....is there any way to get to Camerons Corner? It looks like everything is closed so far.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ring Cameron Corner store or Innamincka pub for road conditions and opening.
Google for the phone numbers
If they are closed, dont drive them.

Most of the roads are now open again out that way. Check out the SA road condition report updated daily.

Yep...been looking at the map daily and there is a little red line between Merty Merty and Camerons corner....looks like I won;t be heading that way! Just thought there may have been another track.

Is it possible to go East from Innamincka?....

you can go east of innaminka on the Adventure way and head towards Qld you will come to a t junction that goes left to eromanga and right to thargomindah which is still the adventure way and then down around to camerons corner, fuel can be bought at thargomindah as well.

great trip did it back in 09 strezlecki is a rough road in places lost the radiator over flow bottle on the tj but all in all a great trip. the adventure way was being done up back then so wasnt a bad road at all rough on the SA side then a good dirt road the rest.

I was stranded in Innaminka for four days last winter due to some rain. We were trapped in the Innaminka Common campground which was cutoff from the Hotel by the creek. It only takes a little to turn those tracks to mud. We went out via the Adventure Way into QLd (because the Strez was still closed) and it was mud and standing water for the first forty kilometres. Pay attention to the track closure info on the SA govt website listed above but remember it can change overnight. Hey, its a risk we take but its wonderful country to be stuck in. The Innaminka Hotel is a great place and the food is fantastic.

The Strez track is usually in good condition because Santos and other gas/mining companies use it and help maintain it. Its a doddle really. I have done it a couple of times in a Magna s/w pulling a caravan. Cheers
