Question Tasmania Visit early Jan 2011.

Hey everyone.

I'm heading off to Tasmania for a week in the early January and wanted to do a bit of off-roading as well. It's my first time to visit Tassie so I have no idea where to find any good tracks. My sister's coming along with her 4wd as well so nothing extreme, especially since she’s only running a set of All terrains. What tracks would youse recommend and are there any maps I can get a hold of?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers. Vlad.

Hey mate thanks for the heads up, I'll definatelly look into this.

We'll be there from the 3rd of Jan, so we can definatelly go and check out some tracks if you're free. If there's anyone else in the area that would like to come along would be great, the more the marrier. Our plan is to drive down to Hobart and check out some great sceenary and points of interest on the way, before heading back to Melbourne on the 10th.

i purchased 1 of these books also they are available at arb. i thought it was a great little book as it shows u a map of where to go, a reference of how far the track is in wat direction from the capital city (hobart) and then tells u how difficult it is and wat type of terrain ul be driving on, wat to watch out for (main hazzards) weather or not u need a permit. how many km's and how long it will take.

all in all a great little introduction to some of the best wheelin in aus

OK, have a rough plan of our stay in Tassie so anyone wanting to go out on a track send me a PM.

We'll be basically arriving on the 3rd and heading straight down to Hobart the next morning. Stay down there for a couple days, while checking out the south coast and then move upwards along the east coast through to Launceston. I'll have the net on me so be able to check the forum for updates daily.

Looking forward to it.

Cheers... Vlad.
