Can I ask why you just don't use VR to navigate to an address out of state? I know that it is a bug that you can't use finger but VR works. I have the same issue on my MY15 KL but I can VR to an address outside of my home NSW.

yeah, VR 'kind' of works.

As an example, I go to Canberra a bit for work. I've tried a few streets/suburbs there, and multiple times it tires to take me to Darwin!!

I've given up on interstate with it, I just use my phone in those instances.

What bugs me is that some cars don't have the issue and some do. So why is it such a difficult fix. I've swapped out electronics in other cars (Audi, RNS-E, MMI II to MMI 3g+ etc), and also there are many threads on how to downgrade firmwares etc (editing the revision files on the download USB sticks)...

Why it has taken 15 months with no resolution is beyond me.

All I want is for my Sat Nav to work as it did when I purchased the car, nothing more, nothing less..

Perhaps a few of you should band together & form a Class action with a Law firm, Surely not fit for application or description would win hands down & maybe spur them into action.

Default Sat-Nav Updates

Just had my WK2 in for 60k service - asked about Sat Nav updates but there are none to be had at the moment.

Naviplus Retrofit for Jeep Grand Cherokee. $1050
I have been reading some info about it. I would be interested in a response if anyone has had this done. Gives you Apple Car Play or Android Apps via connection with your phone. Completely seperate to Uconnect system. Activation is by pressing an existing button on Steering wheel.

I told the dealer about my issue at the last service. They said, "We have an update to fix that."

I waited for quite some time while they "downloaded" the fix - why didn't they do it before I arrived???

Then they tell me the download is "corrupted" and I will have to come back...

Now they say, "It might work, or it might not. If it doesn't, they will have to replace the header unit." Of course, they will have to order one in...

I'll let you know how it ends up.

Cheers
Numb Thumbs

PS The "updated" maps are due out some time later this year, apparently - heard that one before?
