Default TX case prob

G'day all,
Just like some thoughts from you all.

Since fitting the SYE etc, I have a minor prob with the transfer case. It jumps out of high range 4wd. When it does engage fopr any period of time it is very difficult to get out unless I reverse a bit.

I'm thinking it is just an adjustment on the linkage. I have no probs in low range at all which is why I am asking this. I would have thought that if there was a prob with adjustment, i would also experience it in low range.

the mode fork etc all seemed ok in the box.

Cheers
Dale

Default TX case prob

Dale,

My TX case used to jump out of low range on occasion before the BL and MM lift. Hasn't done it since though! I think reversing a bit is pretty common with alot of 4WD's. Not just Jeeps. I think a slight reverse of 10 meters or so unwinds the TX case enough to allow getting out of 4WD. But I might be fawked as per the usual!

Default TX case prob

I had a Suzi and landrover that required reversing to get out of 4wd but have never had to do it in the Jeep. It has only started happening since the SYE installation.

i know TJ's jumpin out of Low range is common and is just an adjustment. Hi range is new one on me.

Sorry mate - haven't experienced that one...I too used to have it drop out of 4lo into neutral - then after one of the mods it simply stopped happening....
Anyways you're problem somes more linkage related than internal - so that's where I'd start - besides it's easier to access

Default TX case prob

If you own a CJ you get used to reversing before you even think about changing out of 4lo it just becomes second nature but I have not heard of it on a TJ
I thought this was only a problem on gear driven cases like the dana300 and not chain driven like the TJ's case ????? Maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong here
