Got mine off with a t60 and a 10mm ratcheting ratchet, I was told not to use any form of rtv as it wears out the gasket and doesnt make a good seal?

I had the last done by a mechanic who caked it some kind of sealent and that didnt last a year obviously as im doing it again decided to do it myself.

noticed the big o-ring I took out has a flat profile, the new one is round (and thicker)...wonder if the flat profile items are original?

managed to get it apart very easily with a 10 & 12mm spanners doubled on a T60, with 2ft pipe (the spanners were $1 Supercheap items
I estimate this was no more than 100ftlbs

Ford Z9 filter is nearly double OEM volume, (and cheaper)

The flat profile is from being squashed in there and then hardening hence the leaks...
