yeah Ducky we did the original course back in June as I hadnt 4 wheeled in 20 years - learned a lot one day in Mundaring and another in Wilbinga....did this second course and found out a lot more technique plus what the newly lifted jeep would do - i was impressed as it surpassed my highest expectations...thanks to Eureka 4 Wheel Driver Training...u guys rock!
breyton - that blanket across the front is for deep water crossings to keep water from being ingested by the intake into the cylinder causing hydrolocking (basically a blown motor - pistons thru the block and all that)...it makes an air pocket in front of and beneath the engine by creating a bow wake in front of the vehicle...one of the instructors offered it to me as i was concerned about the low level of my ram air intake just inside the grill above the bumper...prolly didnt need it but better safe than sorry...there was a 4wd Rodeo that ran on stock suspension and tires and he sopped his air filter without the blanket - had a hard time gettin home with a makeshift cloth tie strapped to his airbox which he nearly sucked into the intake...felt bad as he was the one who really shoulda been using the blanket....as for me, my k&n came out bone dry although pretty dusty...the red straps are my snatch strap already installed and tucked tight around the mirror into my window - never needed them but came close
