Yep +1 for the bigger Diesel here too... - when we were looking at buying I was aware of the (then) upcoming Diesel but once I checked details it was pointless. Came REAL close to losing us back to a Santa Fe actually!... (would be nice if we got the 3.6 V6 rather than the 3.2 as well - biggrin). Increased fuel capacity and left footrest also + 1 for me - and yeah, funnily enough I just yesterday commented to my wife that the Uconnect Screen would be handier if it was angled slightly more upright to help reduce glare as well as being angled a tad to the driver (hadn't noticed its already biased for LHD).

In addition to those things, grab handles in the A pillars would be handy - and it would have been nice if steel rock rails were standard.

I agree with the bigger 2.2L diesel - that would be very nice and while I have no complaints about the 2L it just seems a bit unfair that Europe get it but we don't given we are a very diesel orientated country regardless of manufacturer.

I have a 'tongue-in-cheek' request.

You know the auto-park feature? - I would like an 'auto-get out of the impossibly tight parallel parking spot that you ie: Mr Jeep, managed to get yourself into (clever dick of a Jeep) but leaving me about 5 inches front and back from the already parked vehicles'. It would be nice if seeing that you got yourself into that position in the first place, you could get yourself out of it also.

Now, sometimes I use the feature just for 'shits and giggles' - I find the tech very cool, but I usually (in the case of parallel) always use my rule of thumb that if I don't think I can get in there manually ie: you know those 'border-line' situations, then I don't try.

But I was in a hurry yesterday and I forgot the rule-of-thumb.

You cannot fault the tech. It took all of its 6 tries (per the manual before it cancels and gives up) to do it, with the wheel spinning absolutely max degrees each time and the park sense screaming its head off, but it did it and it was perfect - except I had to get out later didn't I.

Logic tells you that if it got in, then it can get out but let's just say, it took more than 6 turns of the wheel to execute that - 'nuff said.

It's such a techno-nerd of a vehicle and I love it so much but I will always remember my 'rule of thumb' now.

But (tongue-in-cheek) an 'auto get out of the park that you got me in, in the first place' wouldn't go astray.

Looks like I'm the odd man out on the driver's footrest question, I like it just the way it is, more room for the left leg and foot.

Footrests are fairly standard - so I guess a lot of us are used to them. I find it very uncomfortable at times without one myself. The only reason they're absent from Aussie KL is lazy conversion (the US models have them...).

The other lazy conversion item - ie. the indicator stalk being on the wrong side - is something I don't have a problem with - in fact I never hit the wipers in the Jeep when indicating but often do when I get back in the Falcon.

The console and center panel arrangement being slightly offset the wrong way is freaky to observe once you're aware of it - but I had totally not noticed it until it was pointed out...

Indicator stalk like that is not specific to Jeep KL, all Jeeps are like that. In fact a lot of European RHDs are like that too, eg BMWs.

My wifes mini is the same indicator arragement so no no confusion now!

Foot rest would be nice

A RHD centre console would be nice too with the 4wd controls closer to driver!

Sent from a tiny mobile device with fat thumbs...
