[QUOTE=Wanderer;1143350]Hmmm...2012..I'll be in a new Grand (I hope)...I'll wait until the second model...Never get the first ..Hate to see the Commander go & if still in production I'd get another..Pity.

They sound like a nice car, but no diesel is going to be a pain

Thats really good news Wanderer. Interesting they are going with Cummins rather than source a Fiat/ Iveco motor

Hi Wanderer, the VM is usually a nice motor, can be a bit pricey on parts. They are also used a lot in marine applications. A mate had the 2.5litre one in the 1998 Jeep Cherokee and for the era it really flew, thrashed my series 1 Discovery for power.

I'm down in Brissy but i do get up to Land Crusier Park and other good 4wd State Forests up toward Hervey Bay. Next time you're heading south or I’m heading north for a day tip or weekend we should send a PM. Give us a few weeks warning. There's a few others on the forum in our region so maybe we should do a Commander W/E. Anyone else interested?
mate that would be really cool

am just about to sell my delica to fund a rebirth of the commander with a decent lift 3.5 in the front and 2" in the rear just isn't enough and front bar also hopfully a rear bar aswell as the lastime offroad i cracked the rear bar on the passenger rear quarter so i want a steel one
but catching up for a drive or even a camp over a weekend at amamoor creek or somwhere like that would be great fun for the kids aswell
anytime mate pm me i'm keen or anyone else for that matter

I'd be in that. I know a few good tracks around the Amamoor area. I lead a few trip into the state forest there for the National 4x4 Gathering in July.
