Only rule 6 was altered on that date .
This is for when Your item is sold you can close the thread with sold in the thread title , this was put in place so that users could see that an item was sold without having to open the thread , previous to that mods would need to go into a thread and edit it putting sold in the thread title .

I am not trying to be difficult. I am not the only one who is & has had difficulty following.
There you go you answered your own inquiry
But seriously the rules about FS section have been there for a while, whilst we don't all have to like or argree its the rules. Plus in the past there used to be some threads that just went massively off topic and just diluted the purpose of the original thread.
So like it or lump it the B&W approach does work in the majority.

It wasnt me only that wanted to know what was going on. Just that it appears that I am the only one who is prepared to stand up & ask why. I bet the vast majority of members who have only ever purchased or not even done that never knew that commenting on a for sale item is forbidden.
& yes its a rule that is seldom used ~ only on special occasions or 90% of the FS threads would be in trouble.
BTW thanks for the admission that a mistake was made & removing yampets post. The seller did try & contact him to no avail.

JimmyB you will probably need to lock this thread so that the 'famous last word' effect doesn't reverberate on and on .....
