Subject: RE: Proposed changes to regulations governing suspension
modifications to 4 WD's

Importance: High

Christopher,

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any changes to allowances for
modifications to motor vehicles.

RTA Approved Engineers have current requirements detailed by the RTA
Vehicle Standards Unit.

If those standards currently indicate a maximum lift of 50mm, that is
the limit.

If you have any other enquiries, don't hesitate to reply or contact
Technical Enquiries on 1300 137 302.

Regards

Colin Lambert

modifications to 4 WD's

To whom it may concern,
I would like to know more about the proposed changes to the regulations
governing the modicications to Four Wheel Drive suspension. More
specifically to the changes limiting the total lift to 50 mm.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Nice work CJ, good to see someone starting to do something

He hasn't really indicated what the current limit is. Also, he probably wouldn't be aware of any changes within government to change the rules.

I'm starting to think that this may not be as bad as we originally expected. I'm thinking it means they're going to enforce that you can only have a maximum of 2" lift without engineers certificate, and you'll need an engineers certificate for anything more than that. I have no problems with that.

Still, written confirmation would be good.
