Default Is The JK Boring Off Road??

Let me explain:

Ok, maybe not boring, but perhaps less challenging?

The JK just does everything so easily. I feel that I don't have to pick my line as much, or think about "Will it make it??" as it will - with no hassles at all. (I have even gone in 2wd only on some tracks and even then it just ambles through, and the XJ drivers were saying they were in 4Lo!!)

I feel it has taken some of the challenge out of it - your thoughts??

Just about to upgrade to the JK, so it's good news from my point of view!
Just means that I'll have to find more challenging tracks!

Also, if it's doing it easier... isn't that a good thing?

If you haven't been stuck yet you're just not trying hard enough... ;-) Seriously though, you're right - the car is extremely capable but now I find that I'm pointing it at stuff that is an order of magnitude more difficult than what I did in my 40 series. The limits are there they are just much higher.

Don't worry JKohn; you're just going through what all us XJ owners have had to deal with for years ... you learn to live with it ;)

If you get too bored, just lock out your difflock and disconnect switches and put some award winning Pirelli Scorpions on

Maybe this only applies to the Rubicons? They do have electric quick disconnects, lockers from factory and 4.11 gear ratios, more lift and bigger tyres. That is a massive advantage over a stock Unlimited.
