Default Lockers!

Not sure I need em and if I don't I'll bump some fun stuff up the list. What might I be experiencing now that lockers will help with? Is there any point when I'm not expecting to have any wheels right up off the ground? Are the air leakers really that bad because I'm doing the compressor anyway

What type of vehicle? I was looking at diff lockers for my JKU as the next obvious upgrade until I realised it has a Brake Lock Differential.... and before the true locking pros point out its a weak substitute, do some research and go play in diagonal muddy cambered ruts and you'll see it makes a considerable difference... enough that after a little spinning all 4 engaged and dragged me out of the muck. Because of that... my next upgrade now that I have put STT Pro boots on it will probably be a winch now, lockers WERE going to be next on the list... but a little further down now, although still there. Hope this helps?

I have lockers front and rear, and while they are great, I very rarely use the front locker, and the BLD does most of what is needed for standard off road driving.

Unnecessary wheel spin to get through areas is a reason to justify lockers. You may find greater benefit in just getting a sway bar disconnect system and a winch over the process of adding diff locks.

If you are regearing for bigger tyres at the same time, then go for it, but lockers are probably not as high on the list if you don't 'really' need them.

I agree. I had a jk with lockers and my current one doesn't. Gearing and traction is more important. Tyres are the best way to improve traction, and that doesn't mean bigger. Also as above, articulation is the go. You don't need lockers if your tyres are on the ground.

I have a front E locker in mine, but this is only due to me having a gaping hole to fill when I had my front axle housing striped out for mods. Just thought I'd whack one in while I was in there.
Note that I would normally prefer to have it in the back if at all.
Rarely use it but it's there to give me an "edge" if needed.
I jack one wheel up occasionly just to check if it still works.

The only down side to the BLD is when you are trying to get up a slippery hill. As several people have found, excessive BLD action locks out the brake pedal, so if you realise you aren't going to get up when you are half way & try to put your foot on the brake to just stop... That is when a couple of people have found themselves rolling back downhill with a brake pedal that feels like it has a brick under it and no brakes at all.

Just something you need to be aware of though, (hopefully) not a regular occurrence.

If you don't know whether you need lockers or not... you don't need them. If you haven't got a good set of off road tires, decent suspension lift, disconnectable swaybar and a compressor to air down every time you go off road... you are not ready for diff locks.
