Default 1995 Jeep Cherokee crank sensor type?

Just a question all,

The 95' non OBD2 non facelift uses the oval type connector or square connector crank sensor?

Cheers, Hamish

So you have an OBD1 Pre-update Xj then?
They use the CPS with an oval plug....

The old water trick. Poured 1.5l of water on the dizzy and didn't do anything. Then poured the same on the back of the engine and she went

Just a tip it is common on the OBD2 engine management systems that aftermarket crankshaft sensors can cause rough running. They do work but I have read in many complaints the engine has a poor idle amongst other rough running complaints.

A lot of US based jeep owners swear that the only consistent reliable sensor is the mopar supplied one. You can usually order a genuine one at a reasonable cost through US ebay sites rather than the local stealership, I did recently and it arrived in about a week.
