Came across a patrol on its roof. Three occupants were safe and uninjured. Righted the patrol but couldn't get it started so towed it as far as we could and ferried the passengers and gear out. Happened near the the Davies high plain road in the middle of nowhere in the Vic high country.

Was a fairly steep little hill with a loose surface. Never should have happened, nothing remotely difficult. Everything just aligned wrong slid a little sideways, jumped on the brakes and tried to correct and before he knew it it was a slow motion rollover. If you looked at the spot you would never think it was possible to roll there.

Just out of interest , would it be a better idea to snatch going forward rather than backwards ? The rear diff being much stronger than the front and also not being in reverse ?

I always fear for people snatching in reverse to bust a front diff or potentially stripping reverse ?

Normally yes. In this instance the location made it impossible. It also only needed a tug, the weight of the Bronc did the rest of the work after that (note it's downhill).
