G'Day, Macca357.

Expensive business, this setting up! I will use the iCom 440 UHF from the old one and the antenna as well. I can transfer the phone antenna as well. Problem is I won't have a bar so I will have to use two guard mounts, one on each side for the antennas.

I took out the wiring loom that powered the 7" tablet GPS, phone cradle, TPMS, GPS HUD and dash cam. I now have to find an easy to access Accessory power wire. If I can't find one I will use the cig socket in the centre console and plug in a double adapter so I still have a socket there. Getting to the back of that thing seems to involve pulling the whole centre console out, so I won't be doing that!

I get the new one on Tuesday at 4:00 pm and we head off for Easter on Wednesday so I won't have much time! I fear Tuesday night will be very busy as I also want to put in an Anderson plug lead at the tow bar so I have to find a convenient grommet to run a 6B&S double cable through.

I'm not sure when next I will do a run up the Newell to visit Dad.

I asked at Spare Parts about the Mopar nudge bar. Apparently, it doesn't work with the parking sensors. How stupid is that??? If any bar should work, it should be that one!

Cheers

PS I'm assuming the current uConnect has a hard drive to store music files? Is this true??

Don't be scared of removing the centre console area. It seriously takes about 5 or so minutes. I ditched the stupid 5 stacker player when I first got mine for a laredo bin and the whole thing took me about half an hour. Granted I didn't hook up the LED light but all pretty easy once you get the shifter handle off (which you just pull off and undo a hex head bolt). It's just clips and few bolts after that.

There are stacks of youtube vids for replacing the stacker so watch them and see what you think. You could pretty much just remove the shifter top and the surround panel around the shifter and a snake could easily be used to get where you need to without removing the rest.

What I need to get to is the back of the middle section of the dash, behind the storage locker with the cig lighter, USB, SD card and AUX. I need an Accessories power source - or is there an easier one somewhere??

I want to power up the UHF, GPS tablet, TPMS and dash cam when I turn on the accessories. The cig lighter circuit is good for 13 Amps.

Cheers

Funnily enough I was doing the same thing this arvo for my uhf. Here is the trim removal guide. The centre console bin is a few pages in:
http://www.wk2jeeps.com/interior/201...moval_001E.pdf
I didn't end up pulling the whole bin out as I got access to the back through the side panel. This was enough for me to safely drill a 20mm hole for my antenna and mic extension, and I decided to use a quality cig plug in the existing socket for power. A number of posts I've read have taken power from the back of this socket though.

It's winch compatible up to 9500lbs
Also found out that tjm also do 2 different steel bars for the wk2, for some reason they don't show up on their web page, steel bars are winch compatible and weigh 85kg

Gday numbthumbs
That heater hose that blew on your car was/should of been replaced as a recall.
Went into the stealership today to buy a replacement for my jeep & the bloke at the service desk remembered a recall being done. My gc is a 2012 model & the recall was done in 2014. I'll leave mine for now as its less than 3 years old.
Glad i wont be replacing mine as it is a prick of a spot to get too.
Was yours replaced? Maybe everyone should check theirs were done.
